Deering do in Tiverton on November 5th 2012

Ridiculous stories, musical parody, and embarrassing moments are on offer this November 5th at Tiverton’s Comedy Hall, with a world-class trio of comedians that are sure to make your Guy Fawkes’ night one to remember.

Rob Deering and his musical genius come to Tiverton

Headlining is Rob Deering. His sharp mash-ups of songs like Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ and Abba’s ‘Dancing Queen’ have proved an enduring hit with audiences, and will have you wondering which bit of pop culture he’ll lambast next. Don’t miss his use of music to ‘brilliantly accessorise his swipes at the innate gormlessness of contemporary culture’ (The Guardian).
Rob has hosted the legendary Comedy Zone at the Edinburgh Festival, and was invited by American comedy veteran Emo Phillips to support him on his festival run. He convulsed audiences on The Comedy Network, and wrote and hosted comedy series ‘The Lesser-Spotted Britain’ (Channel 5) as well as starring in ’99 Things to Do Before You Die’ (Channel 5). His blend of music and stand up, razor-sharp wit, and clownish physicality are a rare combination of talents that’ sure to please.

MC for the evening is the Comedy Hall’s own Craig Campbell. The eccentric Canadian supported the infamous Frankie Boyle on tour in 2010 and has appeared on ‘Russell Howard’s Good News’ (BBC3) and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC1). Laid back, and armed with cutting put-downs, he’s bound to keep the hecklers and comics in check – or maybe egg them on!

Headliner Rob Deering will need to be on form, because opening the show is relative newcomer Luke Honnoraty. His cheeky sneak-peaks into his most embarrassing moments, and boyish charm will leave you feeling that you’ve known him for years. Luke won the South West Best Comedian award at his first gig! And he’s been headlining ever since. A ‘comedian’s comedian’, he’ll have you laughing at the darker side before you realise it, and is definitely one to watch.

Comedy Hall starts at 8pm on Monday November 5th at Tiverton’s New Hall. Tickets are available for just £10 online at www.comedyhall.lan, or from Jolly Vintner, Twyford Photography and Mr Ben’s Emporium.
