Any comedian that has performed in front of royalty at the Royal Variety performance should be in your bucket list of comics to see before you die.

Stephen K Amos is no exception. As well as performing in front of the Queen and Prince Philip in 2007 – alongside names like Jon Bon Jovi, Russell Brand, James Blunt and the late, great Mel Smith – he has charmed and entertained audiences all over the world with his natural, assured delivery and his honest, original material.

In “Welcome to my world” which is now touring the country, the maestro of feel-good comedy is back and his interactive comedy is garnering some great reviews.

Amos has appeared Have I Got News for You, Mock the Week, The Wright Stuff and And Then You Die.He made a guest appearance as Jimi Hendrix on the third episode of the BBC Three show, Snuff Box. He has also appeared in Rich Hall’s Cattle Drive, EastEnders, Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle and as a featured performer on BBC One’s Live at the Apollo after Dara Ó Briain and before Frankie Boyle. He has also appeared on Live at the Apollo as host and compere.

In March 2007, his documentary on homophobia in the black British community and Jamaica, Batty Man, was broadcast by Channel 4 and won a Royal Television Society Award and BAFTA nomination.

In January 2013 he took part in a special series of The Great British Bake Off. A less know fact is that he appeared on stage in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Next with Christian Slater.

He says of the show: “Even in this day and age, we still don’t like to talk about things like race and sexuality or how much money you earn, all those awkward dinner party conversation fillers.

“There’s a certain weirdness that can spark up in those areas and that gives me a springboard to be awkward within the show and ask the audience the awkward, challenging questions.”

Stephen K Amos is at Comedy Hall on November 30th. Tickets here or at JT’s Party House (the TCAT Box Office).
