June Comedy Hall – it’s a win, win or win

In a couple of weeks it will be June. Comedy Hall is gearing up for the sun, but more importantly for the long-awaited arrival of Bob Mills. It’s hard to explain my excitement that he’s finally coming to Devon. And so as not to over-do it, I’ve decided to let you read an article – in whole – from Metro about Bob. I should point out that this preview was for one of Bob’s shows in Birmingham – and tickets were £17. In Tiverton you get Bob for a tenner. If you live in Exeter, Barnstaple or Bristol, it’s well . . .

An audience with Bob Mills on June 3rd 2013 at Devon’s Comedy Hall

Comedy legend Bob Mills comes to Devon as our comedy guest on June 3rd. Bob hasn’t been off of our TVs and radios since he started out in comedy in 1983, and is often attributed as the bridge between alternative and modern comedy. He was the star of cult TV series such as In Bed with Medinner and The Show, and as the 90s daytime quiz host of Win, Lose or Draw in ITV. Few would know he also starred in Doctor Who opposite Peter Davison, and he also wrote the very successful Michael Barrymore comedy Bob Martin, the Robson . . .

Sunderland Psychic meets Derbyshire DJ at Comedy Hall on March 4th

Show sponsored by Jolly Vintner www.jollyvintner.co.uk   The unlikely pairing of a hospital radio DJ and a clairvoyant make the bill at Tiverton’s Comedy Hall on March 4 one of the more surreal events of 2013. But in the hands of the brilliant comedian Tom Binns, both Ivan Brackenbury and Ian D Montfort will provide a belly full of laughs as he spoofs up the two backward and flawed characters. Brackenbury is Binns’ elder of the two characters, and his Radio 4 series was dedicated to the mishaps and mayhem of the inappropriate DJ. In faux Alan Freeman style, . . .

It’s another coup for the small, monthly comedy club, which has already played host to the likes of Bill Bailey, Rhod Gilbert and Russell Howard. “We love to bring the next big thing to Tiverton,” says Comedy Hall promoter Steve Lodge. “Piff has had more than 7 million hits and rising on YouTube for a card trick he . . .

A Christmas comedy kick-off on December 10

A trio of talented TV comics with sharp opinionated wit, ‘lanky eccentricity’ and hilarious ‘crash and burn’ stories are sure to delight in December’s offering from The Comedy Hall in Tiverton.   This month’s headliner is the acerbic but self-effacing Paul Sinha. He’s thoughtful and political, but there’ll be no shortage of smart and knowing punchlines. A Radio 4 mainstay, Sinha has appeared on ‘The Now Show’, ‘The News Quiz’, ‘Woman’s Hour’ and ‘Loose Ends’ as well as a political pundit on ‘PM’. He’s a serious quiz aficionado, and also features on ITV’s ‘The Chase’. A British Indian and ex-GP, . . .
